It is the week of Halloween! At this time of the year I always feel as if there is a hint of magic in the air. As if all nature’s magical forces are gathering energy for a grand finale on the night in question!
So what better time to talk about one of the well known powerful symbols of magic “the Pentagram”
Most of you will be familiar with the ancient magic symbol the pentagram, or five pointed star. Some people still believe it has strong associations with the devil and black magic. But, it is in fact a positive symbol that is said to summon up the five elements, earth, air, fire, water and spirit. And from ancient times these have been used in spell workings.
If you should enter the house of a modern day witch you are bound to see a pentagram somewhere. Many involved with witchcraft and the occult in general often wear a pentacle as a necklace. In this way it makes it easy for those with similar interests to recognise each other but also because they believe it protects them from psychic attack and negative forces.
HOW TO MAKE A PENTAGRAM
Take a piece of card and place a dinner plate on top of it. Draw carefully around it, and then cut it out. Next, carefully draw the pentagram symbol inside of the circle, making sure that each point of the star touches the edge. You can then decorate the pentagram any way you wish. The most important thing is that it is individual to you, as your pentagram and source of protection.
HOW TO CHARGE IT MAGICALLY
To begin imagine an eye in the centre of your forehead (known as the inner eye) with a bright purple light radiating from it and beaming directly onto your pentagram. Concentrate on it for several minutes. Now a little angelic help is needed to complete the ritual. Ask the Archangels to bring protection and love by saying:
“I ask thee, Angels of the Cosmos, to aid me in my magical workings. Radiate your influence and protection, Send forth your power and light so mote it be.”
Afterwards sit quietly for a few minutes with the palms of your hands resting on the pentagram still imagining the purple light radiating from your inner eye. You can now consider your pentagram to be fully charged and ready to work special magic in your life.
