The Death card worries many people when it appears in a Tarot reading.
As an experienced psychic/tarot reader I have over the years seen even the biggest, most strapping of men look distinctly uncomfortable by its presence.
So is there any need to fear it?
Does the Death card literally mean the death of the person having the reading or someone close?
Remember the Blue Oyster Cult hit "Don't Fear the Reaper"?
Well, it applies to this card.
As unnerving as it is to looks i.e. a ghoulish skeletal figure on horseback cutting everything down in its path. It does not mean “physical death” but more a “metaphorical death”.
In tarot readings, the Death card tells us that it’s time to bring things to a close.
Perhaps you have a difficult personal relationship that you should have ended long ago or a business that you have invested much time and money in that is struggling to survive.
This card is suggesting that it time to let go and make way for a new beginning.
Many people have problems letting go of things that are no longer useful to them in life. They hold on because they do not know how to let go.
Nature has mastered the art of endings successfully. Every year plants and trees die as autumn approaches but they burst in life again the following spring and start afresh.
The appearance of the “Death” card is saying “let go now”.
If you have asked a question and the card appears there is really no need to query further.
The Death card tells you that it has already been decided “it is over” “it has ended”
Often it may not be an ending that we would have chosen ourselves but nevertheless some things are not meant to last.
In a way it indicates a time of positive progress.
It says you have closed a chapter of your life and you can start again, renewed and refreshed.
With acceptance of this fact comes peace of mind.
