The World Beyond Part 52
Activities Beyond the Veil: the Difference between life on this planet and life in the Spirit World.
Apart from our living in low frequency material form on an apparently solid planet here on earth, and the spirits living as intangible points of light in higher freqency locations formed by the inhabitants' thoughts and desires, many activities we have here continue in modified form over there, while some are no longer needed at all.
Our matter also is not really solid either. We know that at the microscopic level the forms we take here, as well as the crust of the earth and its inner core, consist of atoms and particles, or waves moving in space. Our bodies consist mostly of water and a few chemicals. Then again, the life forms which have evolved on the planet, over billions of years in our measurement of time, have devised many different ways to survive and multiply, defend themselves against predators and harness, catch or trap energy, food, and even devour their own species, while plants and insects and micro-organism are dependent on each-other for propagation, fertilisation and providing habitat. Life in general is a vast intermeshing web of cooperation, balance. adjustment and evolution, and the Spirit World provides different levels of supervision through the agency of what we would describe as guides, angels, fairies, devas and other non-material influences. Since Modern Science tends to disregard and ignore these influences, its picture of life lacks many dimensions which are vital components in the life of the individual soul. Hence the troubled times the human race finds itself embroiled in at the present moment.
We seem to be at the top of the evolutionary scheme of life, having surpassed the Neanderthals 30,000 years ago, and we have become self-aware, and moved gradually from divided conflicting tribal society into a global civilisation of co-existing nations. We haved almost reached a stage when we can survive without warfare. But not quite.yet.There is not enough reverence for life, and we do not trust each other. Even if we trust God, or the prophet we worship and follow, we still go out and fight and kill those with other beliefs, and those who have land and resources which we want to possess for ourselves.
The Spirit World preceded our creation and evolution, and is our home and point of origin - some say that our reality is part of the play of the Divine Imagination. The question is often asked, "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" This is really a futile question, as is "why (did this happen to) me?" But with regard to the Spirit World and the Human World, there is no doubt that the Spirit World was and is the progenitor. It came first, in our concept of time. But Spirit time has no beginning and no end. Our finite human brain cannot grasp that. So let us not try.
At some point in cosmic time the Spirit World must have decided it was possible to project its consciousness into these advanced hominids on earth, just as at other levels it tends to the growth of plants, aquatic life, insects and more advanced animal forms. As human beings began to think, and become able to master their environment to a certain extent, they were able to form more cohesive communites than before. Then they became aware of, though not fully connected with, the Spirit World, from which sprang their original spark of individual personal point of consciousness.
So our primitive religions were formed. Some priests and shamans had psychic ability and could see more of the Spirit World than the rest of the population, and so became the first seers and prophets.
Meanwhile the Spirit World could see that qualities of character and expertise and specific skills could be enhanced by spending various individual lifetimes on earth. So reincarnation from time to time became a part of life in the Spirit World - sending fragments of a soul out as remote units living for a while on planet earth, to gain experience there, before returning to home base. Now amongst us all as we choose this or that lifetime on earth, to be with our friends and loved ones again, or to challenge a former enemy once more, there may be some more advanced souls who choose or are selected to incarnate in order to help the rest of us less advanced mortals to awaken further and become more aware of the Spirit World, while we are still alive on earth. They would become our prophets and spiritual leaders. Other older souls might choose to incarnate to give wider rein to their particular genius in some branch of the sciences, or some form of art or other human endeavour.
On earth, all the different levels of ability and awareness intermingle, so in a neighbourhood or city we might meet all kinds of people, and even within a single family, there are many wide differences in character and ability in spite of the same genetic inheritance. Each of these people have chosen or been given this life in this place for learning and for contributing their efforts in that place. There is meaning and purpose within these limitations and opportunities. We are all free to progress and act in our own way. That is how pre-determination and freewill operate in tandem, and harmony. This is little understood as we bemoan our fate or destiny !
The Spirit World does not have such confusion and intermingling of levels. Spirit Law automatically takes care of the processes of life there, separating different forms and qualities of character, so that, for example, former criminals with dangerous tendencies find themselves either alone or among their own kind. Counsellors and rescuers from a higher plane there, or rescue circles from our own world, can help them reform and improve their thoughts and emotions, change their conduct and so allow them to progress to maintain a better disposition and move onwards to a better environment. So those who are trapped in the lower realms of the Spirit World as a result of their bad behaviour on earth, or because of tragic circumstances or an untimely death, are helped by those in the Spirit World and by our rescue circles. More research into this type of work is provided in the ongoing "Rescue Circles" series of articles, [see in these articles on this site under the subject heading of "Spiritualism."] where will also be found a lot more information about the activities in the Spirit World.
From the opposite point of view, we humans find that we are spending time in the Spirit World during our sleep and dreams, and after life, and between lives. So life in body and spirit is, as we have already pointed out, a two-way process.
On earth we live in our body and brain, and the more attuned we become to the Spirit World, the more we can improve our behaviour and make the world around us more beautiful. We have our various professions, jobs, arts and sciences, to enable us the turn the planet into a paradise, if only we would make the ffort, and not be greedy, fighting for more than our share of things.. We need our political systems, commerce, defence and law enforcement to help us remain civilised and law abiding.
In the Spirit World these latter professions are no longer needed. There is no need for commerce, advertising, money, food, drugs and other medication. Communication is through thought transference, or telepathy, so languages are not used as such, though every language we have on earth is understood by everyone without the need for a translator. Lying, cheating, deceiving and scheming are impossible because every intention is quite transparent. Other things which are no longer necessary are patents, insurance, copyrights, profit and loss, interest, balance sheets, lotteries, gambling, lawsuits, bribery and the whole host of bargaining procedures. There are no armaments, armies, spies or police forces. On the other hand, there is infinitely more variety in the scope of scientific, artistic and philosophic activity. Also, former doctors now in the Spirit World do continue to practise, and offer their expertise in healing souls of illnesses and obessions brought over from their lives on earth, and they also work with our mediums and spiritual healers and psychic surgeons to heal us with spirit and distant healing and psychic surgery. Tom Pilgrim, Matthew Manning, Stephen Turoff and Arigo are some of these healers who have worked with spirit doctors.
Judy Laddon's three books about the Afterlife * [note 1] discuss in greater detail why many activities and professions are no longer needed in the Spirit World. As for the subject of reincarnation, other lives and their connection with the soul residing in the Spirit World, that is a huge topic and will have to be the subject of a new series, though some further reading is suggested below * [note 2]. From these studies we can see how we choose our future parents and lives, and our spirit enters the fetus sometime during our mother's pregnancy, finally hooking up with the physical brain and body at birth, though often moving back and forth between the body and the Spirit World during the first two years of life, and then losing the conscious connection for the rest of the lifetime, except during sleep, or during a chance NDE or religious or out-of-body experience. As life progresses, we may meet up with our loved ones, friends and enemies under different circumstances time and again, without being totally aware of it until our permanent return to the Spirit World.. There really is no death., and life continues on into infinity, which is further than we can see from here.
